Atera's Choice Water(TM) Treatment Natural Water System Millions of years of evolution have created a wonderful system that gives all natural waterways the ability to cleanse and renew themselves with natural life giving bacteria and the enzymes they produce. This process, known as "biodegration", breaks down ail organic contamination and returns it to mother earth as harmless carbon dioxide, water and simple salts. Natural oxidation is the principal mechanism in biodegration. Given enough time in an environment free of man made toxins and harsh chemicals, water will rejuvenate itself. Atera has developed a system that accelerates this age old process and gives spa water the ability to cleanse itself through natural biodegration.

How The Atera's Choice Water(TM) Treatment Works

One: The Atera's Choice Water(TM) Conditioning Filter removes unwanted metals and minerals. This process stops staining and scale build up and creates a non-toxic environment that allows Atera's Choice Water(TM) Treatment to perform effectively.

Two: The Atera's Choice Water(TM) Treatment oxidizes all organic contamination naturally by accelerating "biodegration. The left over products are then consumed by healthy bacteria that are present in all natural water, including, tap water and well water. These same bacteria, in a chemical free, non-toxic environment, will use their natural ability to prohibit the growth of unwanted germs (pseudomonas, etc) and give you the healthiest water available in the spa industry today.

Three: Atera's Choice Water(TM) Treatment is the product we use to clean out and purge your spa during new spa start-up, water changes and switching over from the old style chorine and bromine based systems.

DIRECTIONS
1. Remove spa filters for 15-day purge cycle. Fill spa with fresh water from garden hose.

2. Add 4 ounces (1 bottle) of Atera's Choice Water(TM) Treatment for 350-450 gallon spas. Circulate heated spa for minimum of four (4) hours per day.

3. After fifteen (15) days, drain water from entire spa.

4. Place running hose to each orifice and flush all jets and plumbing lines until water returns in good quantity to foot well. Drain all water flushed from plumbing lines.

5. Using a clean cloth or sponge, wipe down entire interior of spa and filter compartment until clean.

6. Attach the pre-filter to your garden hose and run water for one (1) minute prior to placing these in the spa to fill with fresh water. (Note: by fining through one of the filter openings, this wm help eliminate an air lock)

7. Re-install spa filter(s) and or filter sleeve(s} (filters must be removed during 15-day purge cycle or they win clog permanently)

8. Add five milliliters (5 ml) of spa water treatment every 14 days. Always turn jets on high for five (5) minutes to mix treatment evenly. Water Treatment dosage and time between will vary for each household.

9. If water smells like treatment (enzymes) and/or water and excessive buildup take on a brown tent, reduce the amount of treatment.

10. lf water becomes excessively cloudy, add 1/4 cup of household bleach and let cycle for three (3) hours. This will super shock and clarify the water.

11. Always use an Atera's Choice Water(TM) Treatment pre-filter when adding any amount of fresh water.

SYSTEM SWITCHING TO THE ATERA'S CHOICE WATER(TM) TREATMENT SYSTEM:
Add 1 bottle of Spa Prep to existing water. Let spa heat and circulate for 5-7 days with all jets and air valves open and centered. Check spa filters daily Rinse away buildup with high pressure hose to prevent plugging filters & spa lines. This process insures that all organic, chemical, metal and mineral buildup is removed from spa plumbing and shell. Spa may be used during this process, although water may foam and become cloudy as product works.

NEW SPAS: Fill spa with fresh water (no hose Prefilter needed). Follow directions above. All new spas contain buildup from recycled factory test water and chemical residues from manufacturing that have to be removed.

AFTER THE PURGE PERIOD:
Remove spa filters and soak them in clean water and 2 cups of household bleach. Drain spa water. Flush all spa lines. To flush lines; place a running water hose to each jet orifice and flush each line until water returns in good quantity to the spa's foot well. Drain all remaining water and wipe spa dry with a clean towel or sponge. Close spa drain. Remove spa filters from cleaning solution and rinse well with clean high pressure water. Install clean spa filters in spa.

FILL SPA WITH FRESH WATER
: Attach a new Atera's Choice Water(TM) Treatment Prefilter to a standard garden hose. Flush the Prefilter for 1 minute before placing in spa. Fill spa with water. The Prefilter removes unwanted heavy metals and minerals from fresh water. Always use the Prefilter when adding any amount of fresh water. Replace the Prefilter after 500 gallons of use. Regions or wells with hard water or excessive heavy metal content will need to replace the Prefilter after 350-400 gallons of use. Water softeners- If you have hard water and a home water softener, fill spa ¾ full using soft water and the Atera's Choice Water(TM) Treatment Prefilter. Fill the remainder of the spa with tap water through the Atera's Choice Water(TM) Treatment Prefilter only (bypass home water softener).

ADD SPA WATER TREATMENT: See label on Atera's Choice Water(TM) Treatment Spa Treatment bottle for weekly dose per gallons of spa water.

DO NOT OVERDOSE, READ THE BOTTLE LABEL AND MEASURE CAREFULLY
Dosage amounts on bottle are designed for a total weekly bather load of 2-3 people or uses per day. Reduce dose if spa use is lower per week.

WATER CHANGES: Every 6-8 months add one bottle of Spa Prep to spa water and purge overnight. Drain spa water, flush spa lines, install clean spa filters and fill spa with water using a new Atera's Choice Water(TM) Treatment Prefilter.

SPA FILTER CLEANING: Rinse filters weekly-Remove spa filters and rinse well with clean high pressure water & reinstall. Super Clean Filters Monthly -Remove spa filters and soak in water and 2 cups of household bleach for 1 hour. Rinse & reinstall.

CLEAN SPA COVER: Clean underside of cover with diluted bleach or household cleaner & rinse. Do not drip cleaner in spa.

HELPFUL HINTS

OVERDOSING: Using to much Atera's Choice Water(TM) Treatment is the most common problem. Indications of overdosing include; bubbles or foam that linger for more than 15 seconds after jets are turned off, amber or brown buildup on spa surfaces or excessive brown buildup on spa filters. To remedy; skip 2 weekly treatments, rinse spa filters every day and lower the dosage of weekly treatments. Tea colored or fishy smelling water indicates prolonged overdosing. Try to clear water by rinsing spa filters daily or by using one of our Clear Boots (see reverse side) until water clears. You can also use 2-3 tablespoons of dichlor available at most spa stores. If water does not clear after a few days, follow Water Changes above.

ROUGH SURFACE DEPOSITS: This indicates that initial purge did not completely remove hardened salt deposits leftover from prior use of bromine or chlorine and improperly balanced water. It can also occur from failure to use a new Atera's Choice Water(TM) Treatment Prefilter when adding fresh water to spa. To remedy; add 1/4 cup of white vinegar or muratic acid and 1 extra dose of Atera's Choice Water(TM) Treatment. Rinse spa filters daily. Allow 2 days for results. Repeat vinegar or muratic acid dose if needed.

SILKY RESIDUE: Soft, odorless and colorless residue on spa shell are harmless salts. Sweep away with hands to disperse.

pH and ALKALINITY: Normally adjustments are not needed unless rough surface deposits form. To remedy, reduce pH with 1/4 cup of white vinegar or muratic acid added to spa water every other day until deposits soften and wipe off easily.

CLOUDY WATER: If spa water is normally clear with average use and dosage, but becomes cloudy after a party or heavy bather use, we suggest using a Clear Boot (see reverse side for directions) to speed up water recovery. Clear Boots will not adversely affect you or the water's chemistry. You may also add 1-2 teaspoons of dichlor (chlorine) to clear up water. Run spa jets with cover open for 30 minutes after adding dichlor. Dichlor should not be needed or used consistently.

SOFTUBS & SMALL SPAS: The Atera's Choice Water(TM) Treatment System works very well in these types of units. Just follow the directions for the size of your spa as listed on the back label of the Spa Treatment bottle. Use only ½ bottle of Spa Prep for initial purge and prior to all future water changes.

OZONE & CIRCULATION: Atera's Choice Water(TM) Treatment is compatible with ozone systems. Keep all jets and air valves open and centered during daily filtering cycles. Set filter cycle to run a minimum of 4 hours per day if settings are manual.
